Manufacturing Process
Threading gi pipe uses carbon steel pipes as the base material.Then galvanize the carbon steel pipe. After galvanizing, cut threaded at the end of the pipeline.
- Base Pipe: It starts with a steel pipe as the base material. This steel pipe provides the structural strength and durability required to carry fluids or gases.
- Galvanizing: The galvanized layer serves as a protective layer, preventing the steel from coming into contact with moisture and air, which helps to resist corrosion and extend the lifespan of the pipeline.
- Thread processing: Threads are usually processed according to specific standards, such as BSP (British Standard Pipe) or NPT (National Pipe Threads), to ensure proper fit and sealing.

BSP (British Standard Pipe)
Thread Characteristics: There are two types of BSP threads: BSPP (British Standard Pipe Parallel) and BSPT (British Standard Pipe Taper). BSPP is a parallel thread, and the thread angle is 55 degrees. BSPT is a tapered thread with the same 55 - degree thread angle. The parallel threads require additional sealing materials like PTFE tape to ensure a leak - free connection, while the tapered BSPT threads can form a seal without additional sealing in some cases.
NPT (National Pipe Thread)
Thread Characteristics: NPT is a tapered thread, which means the diameter of the thread changes along the length of the pipe. This taper allows for a tight seal when the pipes are threaded together. The thread angle is 60 degrees.
