Cuplock standard is the vertical tube with cup nodes that forms the backbone of the Cuplock system.
- What it is:A vertical steel tube with cup nodes welded at regular intervals.
- Cup node: Each node has a fixed bottom cup and a sliding top locking cup.
- Connection: The blade ends of ledgers, transoms, or braces sit in the bottom cup. The top cup slides down over them and is tapped with a hammer to lock the joint.
- Blades per node: Usually up to 4 members can connect at one node at 90° intervals.
- Cup spacing: Commonly 500 mm.
- Tube diameter: Usually 48.3 mm OD.
- Material: Q235 / Q355 (S235 / S355) steel.
- Wall thickness: Commonly 3.2 mm; heavy-duty versions may be 4.0 mm.
- Common lengths: 0.5 m, 1.0 m, 1.5 m, 2.0 m, 2.5 m, 3.0 m, 4.0 m; custom lengths are also made.
- Ends: Often fitted with a spigot/joint pin to connect standards end-to-end. The base sits on a base plate or adjustable base jack.
- Top fitting: May receive a U-head/forkhead for formwork or shoring support.
- Load capacity: Depends on length, wall thickness, bracing, ties, and leg load.

Cuplock ledger is the primary horizontal member of cuplock scaffolding. It connects two adjacent standards to form the main frame bay, running parallel to the building facade.
- Blade ends: Both ends are flattened/forged into blades that fit into the cups on the standard.
- Connection: The blade ends sit in the fixed bottom cup; the top locking cup slides down over them and is tapped with a hammer to lock the joint.
- Node capacity: Usually up to 4 members can connect at one cup node, typically at 90° intervals.
- Tube size: Commonly 48.3 mm OD with 3.2 mm wall thickness; heavier-duty versions may be thicker.
- Cup spacing: Standard nodes are commonly at 500 mm intervals on the standard.so transom levels are set by the cup positions.
- Typical lengths: 0.6 m, 0.9 m, 1.2 m, 1.5 m, 1.8 m, 2.4 m, 3.0 m — matched to the scaffold width.
| Cuplock intermediate transom | Blade ends: Both ends are flattened/forged into blades that fit into the cup nodes on the standards. Locking: The blades sit in the fixed bottom cup; the sliding top cup is tapped down with a hammer to lock the joint. Orientation: Transoms run at 90° to the ledgers. Ledgers run lengthwise; transoms run crosswise. Tube size: Commonly 48.3 mm OD with 3.2 mm wall thickness |

Ledger vs transom
| Member | Direction | Main function |
| Ledger | Runs longitudinally along the scaffold | Connects standards bay-to-bay; supports transoms |
| Transom | Runs transversely across the scaffold width | Supports platform boards; ties inner/outer standards |
They look similar and both have blade ends, but they are used in different positions and are usually made in different lengths.

Cuplock diagonal brace (also called cross brace) is an inclined steel member with forged blades at both ends, used to provide lateral stability for cuplock scaffolding and shoring towers.
Connection:
Often fitted with blade ends that lock into the cup nodes on vertical standards.
In some configurations, swivel couplers are used to attach the brace to standards or ledgers at the required angle.
Orientation: Installed diagonally across a bay, usually at about 45°–60° to the horizontal.
Tube size: Commonly 48.3 mm OD with 3.2 mm wall thickness.
Lengths: Made to match bay size and height. For example, a 1.5 m wide × 2.0 m high bay needs a brace about 2.5 m long.
Cuplock accessories

Top cup
Material: Ductile casted iron
Weight:0.43-0.45kg
Can slide up and down and rotate freely on the standard.
Has a stop pin to prevent it from sliding off the top of the standard.
After inserting blades into bottom cup, hammer the top cup down. The tapered inner surface wedges tightly onto all blades and locks them.
Bottom cup
Material: Q235 steel Pressed Carbon
Weight:0.2kg
Welded firmly to the vertical standard tube, cannot slide or rotate.
It has four seating slots to receive blades from up to four members (ledger, transom, diagonal brace).
Holds the blades in position before locking with the top cup.
Ledger blade
Material: #35Drop Forged
Weight:0.2-0.25kg
Forged high-strength steel, not cut from flat plate.
Welded to the end of ledger tube.
Inserted into the slots of the bottom cup; locked in place when top cup is hammered down.
