A tie nut, also known as a wing nut or form tie nut, is a component used in formwork systems during the construction of concrete structures. It plays a key role in securing the formwork panels together and holding them in place while concrete is poured and cured. Tie nuts are typically used in conjunction with tie rods or form ties to create a stable and strong formwork assembly.

 

The tie nut is threaded onto a tie rod or form tie, which is usually a steel bar with threading on both ends. The form tie or tie rod goes through the holes in the formwork panels, and the tie nut is then tightened against the outer surface of the panels.

 Tie nuts are threaded components with wings or flanges on either side. They are designed to be easily tightened and loosened by hand without the need for special tools.
