1. Assemble the base: Start by assembling the base, or “floor-level” section. Unpack the “write-in” bases, which have tie-rods & couplers. Begin by connecting the top of the base to the diagonals, then attach the tie-rods & couplers to the base members.
2. Assemble the ledger: Place two ledger uprights in the floor-level base, making sure they are level. Place two horizontal ledgers in between them, connecting them with both connecting pins and adjustable collars.
3. Assemble the transoms: The transoms can be connected to either two standard-level ledgers, or two ledger uprights in the floor-level base. Connect two uprights to the transom, then hold them up to the ledger. Adjust the collars at both sides, then attach them to the ledger using connecting pins.
4. Secure the diagonals: Connect the diagonals to both transoms, making sure the connections are secure. Connect them using tensioners, ensuring the rods are parallel to the frame.
5. Add wall ties: Now that the frame is secure, attach the wall ties to both the uprights and transoms. Secure them using the connecting pins.
6. Add the deck: Place the deck on top of the frame, making sure it rests flush against the ledgers and transoms. Secure the deck to the frame by tightening the nuts and bolts.
7. Check the ties: Check that the ties are securely fastened to the frame and wall, and that the structure is free of any instability or damage. Ensure that the deck is even, needs leveling or additional support if necessary.
