Frame scaffold systems consist of prefabricated, interlocking components designed for quick assembly, load-bearing capacity, and safety. 1.The Primary Structural and load-bearing Components

These are the welded, ladder-like units that form the primary vertical support and define the scaffold's bay length and height. They come in various pre-set widths (e.g., 3', 5', 6.5') and heights (e.g., 2', 4', 5', 6').
Function: To provide the main vertical structure and support the entire load (workers, materials, equipment) placed on the scaffold.

Cross Braces
These are the diagonal, X-shaped components that connect two frames together.
The cross-braces built into the frame provide lateral stability in the direction of the frame's plane,preventing it from swaying or collapsing sideways. They lock the frames together to form a rigid, box-like unit.

Base Plates
Square metal plates attached to the bottom of the frame's leg posts (or as separate components that the leg posts sit in).
Function: To distribute the concentrated load from the scaffold leg over a larger area of the ground or supporting surface. This prevents the legs from sinking into soft ground.

Base plates with a threaded, adjustable screw mechanism.
Function: To provide a means of leveling the scaffold on uneven ground. The screw can be turned to extend or retract, adjusting the height of that specific leg. They are essential for ensuring the first level of frames is perfectly level and stable.
2.Working Level and security Components

The platforms that span between the front and rear frames of a bay. They can be made of solid wood (like LVL), aluminum, or steel.
Function: To provide a safe and stable working surface. They must be secured to the frames to prevent displacement.

Casters (Wheels)
Swiveling or rigid wheels that attach to the base of the leg posts.
Function: To provide mobility for rolling scaffolds. Casters must have a positive locking mechanism on all wheels to prevent movement while the scaffold is in use.

Ladder Frames
Some frames come with a built-in ladder rung system on the end frame. Separate, purpose-made ladders can also be used for access.
Function: To provide safe and approved access to the different levels of the scaffold. Climbing on the cross-braces is prohibited.

Guardrail Systems
A system consisting of three parts: guardrail top rail, Midrail, and kickboard
Function: To provide fall protection for personnel on the working platform.
